About Us
The Department of Public Health and Safety has defined a framework within which faculty and staff facilitate the transformation of students into a cadre of highly competent professionals who are equipped with the knowledge, skills and abilities to make major contributions to health and safety operations at their workplace.
Teaching and Learning - Faculty share their knowledge and expertise in the classroom setting and this interaction contributes to the lifelong learning process. Students are fully prepared for the workplace through extensive use of practicums and internships. Students are exposed to both practical and theoretical aspects of public health and safety in various regional health authorities in different counties, as well as through site visits to various industries. These supervised field experiences are crucial ingredients in the development of workplace-ready graduates.
