Welcome to the Social Sciences Department.  We are committed to providing students with an environment conducive to personal and professional growth and development.  The Department of Social Sciences provides students with relevant training in Sociology and Social Work, to produce graduates who meet the needs of the private and public sectors by maintaining linkages with key institutions.

The Social Sciences play a critical role in understanding the functioning of our societies, successfully negotiating issues arising out of diversity, and developing policies and intervention programmes to regulate and rehabilitate where needed.  Graduates are therefore equipped to make valuable contributions to social service and government agencies in addressing the needs of our society, and our courses are available for students of other departments to choose as electives to enrich and broaden their college experience.
