As an alumnus, you are an important part of the College community and there are many benefits to be gained; especially as a member of the COSTAATT Alumni Association. Additionally, whether you need an official document with respect to your degree results; information on careers or should you wish to get in touch with an old friend or tutor – your Alumni Relations Office would be more than happy to assist.
To access some of these benefits, you must become a member of the Alumni Association by completing a registration form and pay membership fees. Membership fees will be determined by the Executive Board of the Association and will become due and payable in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Association’s constitution. Full membership shall be activated with payment of dues, and entitles the member to full benefits offered by the Association.
Once membership fees are paid, the Alumni Association Membership Card will be issued in the respective member’s name and will be valid for the period so indicated on the card. The card which is non-transferable will also allow access to a number of great benefits:
Networking
Alumni will be able to get back in touch with old friends and classmates. Registered alumni will be able to log in to the Alumni webpage to access the following services as these become available:
- Alumni Network member-search to help you to get back in touch with old friends and colleagues
- Business search to help establish reliable professional contacts
- Alumni bulletin board
- Details of alumni groups
Services from Career Management Services Department
Career Management Services (CMS) is an established department within the College’s Division of Student Affairs that assists students with career and employment goals. The CMS department will provide guidance in career advisement and planning, job search techniques and strategies, career information, job placement, and internships designed to assist in achieving educational, career/work, and life goals. Their capable placement and career advisement officers may be contacted by phone or email and alumni members will be welcome to use any of the services as these become available.
Library Services
Alumni will have access to the COSTAATT Library at South Learning Centre, City Campus and Tobago Campus to study, use reading and research materials and computers. Using the membership card, Alumni must come in to register with the Library in order to access additional benefits. These include:
- Borrowing of up to three (3) items at a time
- Purchasing of vendor cards to access subsidized photocopying services
Use of the online library to access periodical databases, e-books, etc
Services from the School of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning
Special discounts will be given to Alumni to access continuing education and professional development courses offered by the School of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning. By enrolling in the School’s offerings, Alumni will be able to upgrade professional skills in many disciplines in order to stay current with workplace needs, while improving knowledge, competence and performance.
Invitations to Special Events
Membership in the COSTAATT Alumni Association entitles members to invitations to special events hosted by the College or the Alumni Association. Association members will be invited to attend these events or purchase tickets at discounted rates where applicable.
Merchant Discounts
The Alumni Relations Office will assist in securing discounts and other benefits from retail outlets, restaurants etc for cardholders who will be required to present a valid membership card to access these benefits. Merchants may request the provision of photo identification. Any reported abuse of the use of said card may result in disciplinary action at the discretion of the Board.
Membership in the COSTAATT Alumni Association also means that members will be invited to attend membership meetings. Only registered members with up to date membership fees, will be eligible to serve on the Alumni Association Executive Board of Directors or on any of the Executive Committees.
