In the advertising profession, copywriters use their creativity, writing skills and understanding of human nature to craft compelling copy that effectively promotes the products, services and brands of their clients. The aim of this course is help students acquire an understanding of the fundamentals of copywriting and the essential skills needed to work as a copywriter in the advertising industry. Topics include high impact writing, identifying and understanding the target market, idea generation, the copywriting process from client to campaign, and writing for different media-print, radio, television and digital. Students apply knowledge and skills learned in practical applications-creating ideas and writing copy which culminate in the development of a complete campaign.
Applicants seeking admissions to this short course must be sixteen (16) years and over.
